Rock Gardens have always seemed unworthy of the term "garden." All kinds of rocks predictably piled and filled with Stone Crop Cedum or creeping anything. Not my idea of a place worth digging into or visually enticing. As I sat on this "beach" this summer the idea of God's rock garden became a wonder. Here, all of these smooth pebbles continuously washing upon the shore, white, without sharp edges. Tumbled smooth. Endless in number. Rocks crying out, "Pick me up. throw me in, paint me, keep me, take me home." Better left to be God's own rock garden. I can't get this effect in my own back yard.

Snow on the Mountain is pictured below. This flower just started blooming as it always does in late August. Such a personal favorite which I grew from seed whem we first started the garden almost 20 years ago. It has faithfully reseeded every year since. The striped green and white petals were a favorite part of my wedding bouquet and we also saw it bloooming in Portugal on our honeymoon. This flower friend has been with me all of married life! It is a floral tradition. If you want to grow it come by my garden for seeds in late September or order from a seed catalogue.
